How we check prices and label pages

How Better Apps checks prices, what counts as a fact versus Kerry's opinion, how AI is used and what each page label means.

This page explains what is on a Better Apps page, where it comes from and how much of it is a person's own testing. If a page ever breaks these rules, tell us on the correction page.

Facts and opinions are kept apart

Facts are things anyone can check on the vendor's own pages: plan names, list prices, free plans, trials, limits and integrations. Every tool page lists its sources and the date the price was last checked.

Opinions are Kerry Morrison's verdict and the flaw he found in each tool. Only Kerry writes these. No tool, vendor or AI draft fills them in. Until Kerry writes them, the page says it is not yet reviewed and asks search engines not to index it.

How prices are checked

How often prices are checked

We plan to recheck every price each month. The check date on each page shows the last time a check really happened. We change that date only after a real check, not to make a page look fresh.

Each tool page also keeps a price history. A new row is added when a check finds a change.

How AI is used

We use AI tools to gather facts from vendor pages and to draft the plain-language descriptions. People set the rules and review the output, but a person has not hand-verified every figure yet. That is why unconfirmed items are marked. AI does not write Kerry's verdicts.

Labels you will see

Money

No tool pays to be listed or ranked. Affiliate links are off at this time. If we turn any on, the page labels them and links to the disclosure. Money never changes a verdict.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, use the correction page. We fix confirmed errors and update the check date.
